Privacy Policy

The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (who operate churchheritage.scot) takes your privacy seriously. Should you wish to contribute to the web site you are required to provide some personal information such as name and email address to allow us to create a user account. This information is stored securely and only ever used in the administration of your account.

Google Analytics is a web statistics service provided by Google. When you visit our site, a small script operates in the background to retrieve summary information about your use of our site which is stored by Google for collation into aggregate reports. Our staff can then query this data for useful metrics across all visits such as time on site, type of browser, most popular pages and so on.

Cookies are small text files that exist in your computer to help web sites recognise you as an individual visitor and assist us in providing the best experience to you. You can read more about Cookies in our Cookie Policy.

Website logs are standard across all web sites and record each request for information that is processed by the website server. The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland uses log files to record some basic information about activity on the website and we analyse this to provide further statistics on web site use and in some cases to help with understanding usability issues.
